Shane and Shane @ ATL

Okay, so, if you and I have been friends in the past 10 years then you know that I'm a huge Shane & Shane fan.

These guys are probably my favorite band of all time. I started listening to their music as a college student living in Denton, Texas. My first impression was the depth of the lyrics and how they glorify God with every strum and note.

Plus, they're really talented.

Here's a funny video I shot of them at a Youth Worker's Conference in Atlanta, GA a couple of weeks ago.

You can find out more about these guys and buy their music by visiting shaneandshane.com

Shane and Shane concert at NYWC ATL '09 including never before seen footage of the original version of "Burn Us Up" plus a short clip of the CD version. For more info on Shane and Shane, please check out shaneandshane.com

Bucket List

So, this past week we had a small outbreak of H1N1 in our home.

It hit my oldest daughter, Abby and my wife, Angie the hardest.

On Monday, Abby’s fever got up to 105.4 but thankfully, we were able to get her in to the doctor and get her on Tamiflu within 6 hours of onset.

On Thursday night my wife was feeling terrible, so, we took her into the ER. As it turns out, she was just dealing with acute symptoms from H1N1 and just needed to get rest and nourishment.

All of his got me thinking about death. Death is something we don’t really talk about much. I mean, my wife and I aren’t even 30 and our kids are only babies. People our age just don’t die.

But that’s not true.

150,000 people die everyday in the US and their ages are all over the spectrum.

James 4:14 reminds us that our lives are just vapors, a mist. Like spraying a water bottle and watching the tiny droplets emerge and then vanish as if they were never there.

So, how will I live out my vapor of a life?

I don’t know, but here are a few things I’d like to do before it’s over:

1. Lead my daughters to a relationship with Christ and baptize them.
2. Disciple my girls to become Godly women.
3. Walk my daughters down an aisle and give them away to a Godly man.
4. Hold grand babies.
5. Take a cruise with my wife.
6. Travel to Australia, the Holy Land, Ireland, and Hawaii. [in no particular order]
7. Learn to play piano.
8. Write a song, or two.
9. Do mission work on all 7 continents.
10. ________________________________

This list is far from complete.

I wonder, what would be on your list?
